This revolutionary new procedure uses a catheter through an incision in the leg -- instead of open heart surgery -- to replace the aortic valve. Typical hospital recovery after TAVR is one to three days, much less than open heart surgery. It presents a new option for people who are not candidates for open heart surgery.
