A clinical cardiologist with Prairie Cardiovascular Consultants, Dr. Novak's work
has been widely praised. In 2002, she received the 2002 Governor's Commendation
Award from the Illinois Chapter of the American College of Cardiology (ACC) for
her role in developing a rural health initiative for Illinois. In addition to this
distinction, Dr. Novak is currently a member of the ACC's National Prevention Committee,
where she stays in touch with the latest information affecting preventative care.
