The main lobby is designed to get people involved in heart health. Interactive kiosks with computer touch screens display heart-related themes. The lobby also accommodates a resource center where visitors can borrow or buy guides, books, and more. The Cardiac Rehabilitation Center provides exercise and education for patients following a coronary event with the goal of helping patients achieve and maintain their optimum level of health by increasing physical fitness and reducing heart disease risk factors. Center for Living services include weight and stress management, CPR training, and smoking cessation.
 
Second Floor
The second floor houses the majority of the electrical and mechanical equipment.
 
Third Floor

The recovery rooms enable patients to stabilize after surgery with greater accessibility for surgeons, support staff and patient's family members.

Having the cardiologist's and surgeon's offices adjacent to the areas where they see and treat patients allows for more convenient, efficient care. Cath lab outpatients stay in private rooms located adjacent to the outpatient catheterization procedure rooms. Family members are encouraged to stay with the patient.

All patients entering the Prairie Heart Institute at St. John's Hospital for diagnostic and treatment services will register on the fifth floor. With one stop, patients can get a chest X ray, have lab work and diagnostic testing done, and be assessed by their physician.
 
Connection to St. John's Hospital
The third, fourth, and fifth floors of the Prairie Heart Institute are directly connected to the corresponding acute care areas of St. John's Hospital. Housed within this section, which bridges 7th Street, are surgery and recovery, catheterization laboratories, and cardiovascular diagnostic services.
 
Parking Walkway
The skyway link between the Prairie Heart Institute at St. John's Hospital and the third floor of the Mason Street parking ramp offers patients and families convenience and safety. Valet parking also is available at the ground-level entrance on Mason Street.
 
James T. Dove, MD Conference Center
The 8,500-square-foot James T. Dove, MD Conference Center is located on the west side of the Prairie Heart Institute is used for workshops and education programs for medical students, residents, physicians, nurses, and paramedical personnel. The Conference Center also serves as a community resource, offering classes for the general public. Designed to be flexible, the center has seating for approximately 300 people and can be divided into smaller conference rooms.
