In October, cardiologists at Prairie Heart Institute joined with hundreds of their colleagues from around he globe to share knowledge about the latest advances in vascular procedures — without leaving the Cath Lab. PHI was chosen as a site to perform live case demonstrations for participants at the Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics (TCT) conference in Washington, D.C.

Drs. Krishna Rocha-Singh, Gregory Mishkel, Jeff Goldstein, Nilesh Goswami and Michael Kelley from Prairie Cardiovascular also discussed their cases in real time with specialists from Europe, Asia and Australia who were at the conference and observing through a video uplink.

The first live case involved looking at how best to open blocked arteries to improve blood flow to a patient’s kidneys. The second live case demonstrated how ballooning and stenting leg vessels can restore circulation to patients who suffer from non-healing sores and ulcers on their feet and legs.
