Coping with Cancer: A Mind-Body Approach
Coping with Cancer is a six-week group program that provides a supportive environment for cancer patients and their families/ caregivers. Research has shown cancer patients who participated in a mind-body based stress-reduction program reported a reduction in mood disturbances such as depression, anxiety, anger and confusion, as well as a reduction in symptoms of stress. During this program, participants develop relaxation response techniques, work with thoughts to enhance health, harness the energy of their emotions as inner guides, learn how to communicate to enhance well-being, and develop effective coping skills.
