Location:   Healing Arts Studio

Description:   Tai Chi is a series of simple, non-strenuous movements known to relax the body and refresh the mind. Moves can be performed by anyone, regardless of age or physical condition. Tai Chi can help individuals feel calm, even in the midst of activity, and helps relieve daily tensions and stress based on principles of relaxed breathing, rhythmic movements and equilibrium of weight.

Liangong in Eighteen Movements
This class is a means of keeping fit based on the study of traditional Chinese martial arts and current knowledge of the benefits of exercise. Reported benefits include: relief of pain (in the neck, shoulder, lower back and legs); strengthening of muscles; and enhancing blood circulation, nervous function and fluid regulation. Movements are slow and continuous, “internally” forceful and coordinated with respiration: inhaling while doing stretching movements and exhaling on recovery.
