Coping with Cancer - A Mind-Body Approach

Instructor(s):   Bridget Rolens, MA, BSOT

Location:   Simmons Cancer Institute, 315 W. Carpenter, Room 3015

Description:

Coping with Cancer is a six-week group program that provides a supportive environment for cancer patients and their families/caregivers. Research has shown that cancer patients who participated in a mind-body program reported a reduction in depression, anxiety, anger and confusion, as well as a reduction in symptoms of stress. During this program, participants develop relaxation response techniques, work with thoughts to enhance health, harness the energy of their emotions as inner guides, learn how to communicate to enhance well-being and develop effective coping skills.
