Cardiac Rehabilitation
 
Location:   Cardiac Rehab at Prairie Heart Institute
 
Description:   Our team of healthcare experts helps cardiac patients improve the quality of their lives by emphasizing exercise and education.

Phase II
This medically prescribed program is for patients who have been discharged from the hospital. The group meets three days a week for up to 12 weeks.

Phase III
This maintenance exercise program is for patients who:
  • have been in cardiac rehabilitation;
  • have known heart disease or risk factors for heart disease; and/or
  • have been referred by their physician.
Patients in this medically supervised program receive an exercise prescription. They have the opportunity to improve or maintain their cardiovascular fitness, flexibility, muscle strength and endurance. Patients may participate two, three or four days a week.
 
Prerequisite:   Patients must be referred to the program by their physician.
